En chimie, le savon est un sel d'un acide gras. Les savons sont principalement utilisés comme tensioactifs pour le lavage, la baignade et le nettoyage, mais ils sont également utilisés dans la filature textile et sont des composants importants des lubrifiants. Les savons sont des composants clés de la plupart des graisses lubrifiantes, qui sont généralement des émulsions de savon de calcium ou de savon au lithium et d'huile minérale.
