Cinq huitième
Cinq-huitième ou demi-stand-off est l'un des postes dans une équipe de football de ligue de rugby. Avec le maillot numéro 6, ce joueur est l'un des deux "demi-dos", dans la ligne arrière d'une équipe, en partenariat avec la demi-mêlée. Également appelé pivot ou second récepteur, dans un jeu d'attaques traditionnel attaquant, le cinq-huitième recevrait le ballon de son partenaire demi-arrière, qui est le "premier récepteur" de la balle de la "moitié fictive" ou Prostituée suite à un tacle. Le rôle du cinq-huitième du deuxième destinataire était ensuite d'utiliser leurs compétences de passage créatives pour déplacer le ballon loin du milieu du champ encombré plus loin le long de l'arrière vers les «dos extérieurs», les centres et les ailés qui ont plus Espace pour courir avec elle. En outre, les joueurs de ce poste assument généralement la responsabilité de donner un coup de pied à la balle pour la position de terrain en jeu général. Le cinq-huitième est donc considéré comme l'un des postes les plus importants, souvent appelé «créateur de jeu», en assumant un rôle décisionnel sur le terrain. Au fil du temps cependant, au fur et à mesure que le jeu a évolué, les rôles des deux moitiés sont devenus plus alignés et difficiles à distinguer.
