Subjacency
La sous-relation est une contrainte de localisation syntaxique générale sur le mouvement. Il spécifie les restrictions imposées aux mouvements et le considère comme un processus strictement local. Ce terme a été défini pour la première fois par Noam Chomsky en 1973 et constitue le concept principal du gouvernement et de la théorie contraignante. La définition révisée de la sous-relation de Chomsky est la suivante: "Une règle cyclique ne peut pas déplacer une phrase de la position Y à la position X dans ... X ... [α ... [β ... Y ...] ...] ... X ..., où α et β sont cycliques Nœuds. Les noeuds cycliques sont S et NP ", [1]. Ce principe indique qu'aucun mouvement ne peut déplacer un élément sur plus d'un noeud délimitant à la fois. Dans des cadres plus récents, les nœuds limitants qui sont des obstacles au mouvement sont AgrP et DP. Par conséquent, la condition de Subjacency limite le mouvement en définissant des nœuds de délimitation. Cela explique également le fait que tous les mouvements sont locaux.
