Trente-neuf articles
Les Trente-Neuf Articles de religion sont les déclarations historiquement définies des doctrines de l'Église d'Angleterre en ce qui concerne les controverses de la Réforme anglaise. D'abord établi en 1563, les articles ont servi à définir la doctrine de l'Église d'Angleterre en ce qui concerne la doctrine calviniste et la pratique catholique. Le nom complet des articles est généralement abrégé en trente-neuf articles ou les articles XXXIX. À l'époque, l'Église d'Angleterre recherchait sa position doctrinale par rapport à l'Église catholique romaine et aux mouvements protestants continentaux. Une série de documents définitifs ont été écrits et remplacés sur une période de 30 ans à mesure que la situation doctrinale et politique a changé de l'excommunication d'Henri VIII en 1533 à l'excommunication d'Elizabeth I en 1570.
