Situation sans gagne
Une situation sans victoire, également appelée «situation perdue», est celle où une personne a des choix, mais aucun choix ne mène à un gain net. Par exemple, si un bourreau offre au condamné le choix de mourir en étant pendu, tiré ou empoisonné, puisque tous les choix mènent à la mort, les condamnés sont dans une situation de non-victoire. Cette situation sombre donne peu de place au choix: quel que soit le choix, la personne qui la fera perdra sa vie. Des situations moins drastiques peuvent également être considérées comme des situations sans gagnant: si l'on a le choix entre le déjeuner entre un sandwich au jambon et un sandwich au rôti, mais est un végétarien ou une allergie au blé, cela pourrait être considéré comme une situation sans gagne.
