Fonction Wave
Une fonction d'onde ou une fonction d'onde dans la mécanique quantique décrit l'état quantique d'un système d'une ou plusieurs particules et contient toutes les informations sur le système. Les quantités associées aux mesures, comme l'élan moyen d'une particule, sont dérivées de la fonction d'onde. C'est donc une quantité centrale dans la mécanique quantique. Les symboles les plus communs pour une fonction d'onde sont les lettres grecques ψ ou Ψ. L'équation de Schrödinger détermine comment la fonction d'onde évolue au fil du temps, c'est-à-dire que la fonction d'onde est la solution de l'équation de Schrödinger. La fonction d'onde se comporte de manière qualitative comme d'autres ondes, comme les ondes d'eau ou les ondes sur une chaîne, car l'équation de Schrödinger est mathématiquement un type d'équation d'onde. Ceci explique le nom de "fonction d'onde", et donne lieu à la dualité onde-particule. La fonction d'onde pour un système donné n'a pas de représentation unique. Le plus souvent, il est considéré comme une fonction de toutes les coordonnées de position des particules et du temps, c'est-à-dire que la fonction d'onde est en "espace de position".
