C'est un élément de circuit électronique semi-conducteur qui est utilisé comme élément de commutation, si nécessaire, pour fournir un gain de tension et de courant en augmentant le signal appliqué à l'entrée de la grille ou du transistor. BJT est un transistor de surface à double jonction. Il se compose de deux éléments N, un élément P ou deux éléments P, un élément N. Le transistor est un élément de circuit tripolaire. Le pôle central sur le symbole du circuit s'appelle la Base, le pôle sur lequel il s'appelle s'appelle l'Emetteur, l'autre s'appelle le Collecteur Polaire. Les courants de collecteur et d'émetteur sont ajustés en fonction de la gravité du courant de base. Ce taux de réglage dépend du facteur de gain. Les transistors sont les éléments constitutifs des appareils électroniques. Les appareils électroniques utilisés dans la vie de tous les jours peuvent avoir autant de transistors que plusieurs milliards.
