न्यायक्षेत्र एक औपचारिक रूप से गठित कानूनी निकाय या एक राजनीतिक नेता के साथ कानूनी मामलों पर निर्णय करने और निर्णय लेने के लिए, जिम्मेदारी के एक निर्धारित क्षेत्र के भीतर न्याय का संचालन करने के लिए दिया जाता है। इस शब्द का उपयोग भौगोलिक क्षेत्र या विषय-वस्तु को दर्शाने के लिए भी किया जाता है जिसके लिए ऐसा प्राधिकरण लागू होता है। क्षेत्राधिकार क्षेत्र स्थानीय, राज्य और संघीय स्तर पर लागू होते हैं। न्यायक्षेत्र सार्वजनिक अंतरराष्ट्रीय कानून, कानूनों के विरोधाभास, संवैधानिक कानून और सरकार के कार्यकारी और विधायी शाखाओं की शक्तियों को अपनी मूल समाज की जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए संसाधनों का आवंटन करने के लिए अपना अधिकार रखता है।
