Antisense RNA
Il RNA antisenso è un RNA a singolo filamento che è complementare ad un filo di messaggistica RNA trascritto all'interno di una cellula. Alcuni autori hanno utilizzato il termine micRNA per riferirsi a questi RNA, ma non è ampiamente utilizzato. L'antisense RNA può essere introdotto in una cellula per inibire la traduzione di un mRNA complementare mediante accoppiamento a base ad esso e fisicamente ostruendo la macchina di traduzione.
