Descrizione audio
La descrizione audio, nota anche come descrizione di una video o più precisamente chiamata descrizione visiva, si riferisce ad una traccia di narrazione aggiuntiva destinata principalmente a utenti non vedenti e visivi di supporti visivi. È costituito da un narratore che parla attraverso la presentazione, descrivendo ciò che sta succedendo sullo schermo o sul palco durante le pause naturali nell'audio e, talvolta, durante il dialogo se ritenuto necessario. La tecnica è simile a quella di una vecchia radio. Per le arti dello spettacolo e per i media, la descrizione è una forma di traduzione audio-visiva, usando le pause naturali nel dialogo o tra elementi critici di suono per inserire narrativa che traduce l'immagine visiva in una forma di senso accessibile a milioni di individui che altrimenti Manca l'accesso completo alla televisione e al film. Occasionalmente quando c'è un dialogo che è in un'altra lingua dalla parte principale del film e sottotitolato sullo schermo, i sottotitoli vengono letti dal carattere da parte del describer.
