CHE SIGNIFICA AUGUSTINIAN IN INGLESE
Agostiniani
Il termine agostiniani, chiamato da Sant'Agostino d'Ippona, si applica a due tipi di ordini religiosi cattolici separati e non correlati: diversi Ordini mendicanti di frati, che vivevano una vita religiosa mista della contemplazione e del ministero apostolico e seguivano la Regola di Sant'Agostino, Breve documento che fornisce linee guida per vivere in una comunità religiosa. Il più grande e più familiare, originariamente conosciuto come gli Eremiti di Sant'Agostino e anche come i frati di Austin, ora è semplicemente denominato l'Ordine di Sant'Agostino. Due altri Ordini, i Ricordi Agostiniani e gli Agostiniani Scalzi, fecero una volta parte dell'Ordine Augustiniano sotto un solo Primo Generale. I Frati Ricordi, fondati nel 1588 come movimento di riforma dei frati augustini in Spagna, sono diventati autonomi nel 1612 con il loro primo Primo Generale, Enrique de la Sagrada.
