Il sito reale di San Lorenzo de El Escorial è una residenza storica del Re di Spagna, nella città di San Lorenzo de El Escorial, a circa 45 chilometri a nord-ovest della capitale di Madrid, in Spagna. È uno dei siti reali spagnoli e funge da monastero, palazzo reale, museo e scuola. C'è un'altra città, 2,06 km più in là della valle, chiamata 'El Escorial'. L'Escorial comprende due complessi architettonici di grande importanza storica e culturale: il monastero reale e la Granjilla de La Fresneda, un rifugio reale di caccia e un rifugio monastico a circa cinque chilometri di distanza. Questi siti hanno una doppia natura; Cioè nei secoli XVI e XVII, erano luoghi in cui la potenza della monarchia spagnola e la predominanza ecclesiastica della religione cattolica romana in Spagna trovarono una manifestazione architettonica comune. El Escorial era, contemporaneamente, un monastero e un palazzo reale spagnolo. Originariamente una proprietà dei monaci Hieronymite, ora è un monastero dell'Ordine di Sant'Agostino.
