Eccellenza è uno stile di onorificenza dato a certi membri di un'organizzazione o di uno Stato. Una volta raggiunto il titolo "Eccellenza", il titolare può conservare il diritto a questa cortesia per tutta la durata della sua vita, in conformità con le normative internazionali e le norme diplomatiche diffuse. Generalmente le persone rivolte come Eccellenza sono capi di stato, capi di governo, governatori, ambasciatori, certi ecclesiastici, reali, aristocratici e militari, e altri che hanno un rango equivalente. A volte viene interpretato come titolo di ufficio in sé, ma in realtà è un onore che precede diversi titoli, sia in discorso che in scrittura. In riferimento a un tale funzionario, prende la forma di Sua Eccellenza; In diretto indirizzo, la Sua Eccellenza, o, meno formalmente, semplicemente Eccellenza.
