Frumenty era un piatto popolare nella cucina medievale dell'Europa occidentale. Era fatta principalmente da frumento bollito e rotto, quindi il suo nome, che deriva dalla parola latina frumentum, "grano". Diverse ricette hanno aggiunto latte, uova o brodo. Altre ricette includono mandorle, ribes, zucchero, zafferano e acqua di fiori arancioni. Frumenty è stato servito con carne come vongola, tradizionalmente con cervo o occasionalmente porpoise.
