Ieratico
Hieratic è un sistema di scrittura corsiva, utilizzato nella provenienza dei faraoni in Egitto e Nubia, che si sviluppano accanto al sistema geroglifico, a cui è intimamente legato. È stato scritto principalmente in inchiostro con un pennello di canna sul papiro, permettendo agli scribi di scrivere rapidamente senza ricorrere ai geroglifici che richiedono molto tempo. Nel II secolo dC il termine hieratic fu utilizzato per la prima volta da San Clemente d'Alessandria. Esso deriva dalla frase greca γράμματα ἱερατικά, come a quel tempo hieratic era utilizzato solo per i testi religiosi, come era stato per i precedenti millenni. Hieratico può anche essere un significato aggettivo "f o associato a persone sacre o uffici, sacerdotale".
