implicatura
L'implicazione è un termine tecnico nel sottosettore di linguistica pragmatica, coniato da H. P. Grice, che si riferisce a ciò che è suggerito in una parola, anche se né espresso né rigorosamente implicito dall'affermazione. Per esempio, la frase "Mary aveva un bambino e si sposò" suggerisce fortemente che Maria aveva il bambino prima del matrimonio, ma la frase sarebbe ancora strettamente vero se Mary avesse avuto il suo bambino dopo che si era sposata. Inoltre, se aggiungiamo la qualifica "- non necessariamente in quell'ordine" alla frase originale, allora l'implicazione viene annullata anche se il significato della frase originale non viene alterato. "Implicature" è un'alternativa alla "implicazione", che ha significati supplementari nel linguaggio logico e informale.
