I fanghi oi fanghi, noti anche come appartamenti a maree, sono zone umide costiere che si formano quando il fango è depositato da maree o fiumi. Sulla costa della Germania del Mar Baltico in luoghi, i fanghi non sono esposti da un'azione a marea, ma da un vento che guida l'acqua lontano dalle superfici in mare.
