CHE SIGNIFICA POSTULATOR IN INGLESE
Postulatore
La persona che guida una causa di beatificazione o di canonizzazione attraverso i processi giudiziari richiesti dalla Chiesa cattolica romana è conosciuta come il postulatore. Le qualifiche, il ruolo e la funzione del postulatore sono descritte nelle Norme da osservare nelle Richieste fatte dai Vescovi nelle Cause dei Santi, in vigore dal 7 febbraio 1983. Un firmatario che chiede la beatificazione può nominare come postulatore chiunque, Chierico o no, esperto in questioni teologiche, canoniche e storiche e esperto nella pratica della Congregazione per le Cause dei Santi, soggetta all'approvazione del vescovo. I principali ordini religiosi, come i francescani, i domenicani e i gesuiti, nominano membri dei loro ordini come postulatori generali che sono disponibili a agire per i petizionieri nelle cause e che sviluppano reputazione come esperti nel loro campo. La fase successiva di una causa richiede al postulatore di risiedere a Roma, che favorisce anche l'assegnazione del ruolo del postulatore a tale postulatore generale, poiché la maggior parte degli ordini religiosi mantiene la propria sede a Roma.
