Traino da sci
Un tappeto da sci, chiamato anche rimorchio di corda, maniglia di traino o sollevamento bugel, è un sistema meccanizzato per tirare sciatori e snowboarder in salita. Nella sua forma di base, è costituito da un lungo ciclo di corda che attraversa un bullone in basso e uno in alto, alimentato da un motore ad una estremità. I passeggeri afferrano la corda e si tirano lungo mentre si levano in piedi sui loro sci o snowboard e scivolano sulla collina, con alcune variazioni con maniglie fissi. Queste semplici forme rimangono popolari per le porzioni relativamente piatte di aree sciistiche dedicate ai principianti - spesso chiamati pendii a conigli - ma sono sempre più sostituiti da tappeti magici. La forma più avanzata utilizza una serie di pulegge per seguire la pendenza e può arrivare fino a 1.4 km di traino con un aumento verticale di 600 metri. Le forze coinvolte e le pulegge che attraversano la corda richiedono al pilota di attaccare usando un "nutcracker" o un "grabber". Questo stile è stato sostituito dagli ascensori a T-bar, dal piatto e dalla seggiovia in molti posti, con la notevole eccezione dei campi più piccoli della Nuova Zelanda.
