Stoa
Stoa è un termine che definisce, nell'antica architettura greca, coperti passerelle o portici, comunemente per uso pubblico. I primi tempi furono aperti all'entrata con le colonne, di solito dell'ordine dorico, che fiancheggiavano il lato dell'edificio; Hanno creato un'atmosfera sicura, avvolgente e protettiva. Successivi esemplari furono costruiti come due piani, con un tetto che sosteneva i colonnati interni in cui erano localizzati negozi o uffici. Seguirono l'architettura ionica.
