Alçıtaşı

Il composto chimico del gesso è un minerale con solfato di calcio. Il composto con due molecole di acqua cristallina è chiamato gesso. Il solfato di calcio minerale con acqua in esso è cristallizzato in colonne singole o doppie. I cristalli di gesso si trovano nell'argilla e nella marna, o nelle montagne salate e intonacate. Si trova in Anatolia come una grande roccia nella regione di Kızılırmak, in particolare con il salgemma. Si ottengono due diversi tipi di gesso mediante l'elaborazione del gesso in due forme. In primo luogo, il gesso viene schiacciato, le sbriciolate si sbriciolano, i mattoni vengono riscaldati a 120 gradi nei forni e una quantità di acqua in essi viene prelevata e ri-polverizzata. Quando questa miscela viene miscelata con acqua, diventa una donatrice e una massa molto duratura dopo poche settimane.

İçinde su bulunan kalsiyum sülfat minerali, tek veya ikiz sütunlar halinde billûrlanır. Alçı billurlarına kil ve marn içinde, veya tuzlu ve alçılı dağların boşluklarında rastlanır. Anadolu'da kaya tuzu ile birlikte bilhassa yukarı Kızılırmak bölgesinde büyük kayalar halinde bulunur. Alçı taşı iki şekilde işlenerek birbirinden farklı iki cins alçı elde edilir. Birinci şekilde, alçı taşı kırılır, değirmenlerde ufalanır, tuğla, fırınlarında 120 dereceye kadar ısıtılarak içindeki suyun bir miktarı alınır ve tekrar değirmenden geçirilerek toz haline getirilir. Bilhassa kalıp, model, tavan süsleri yapılmasında kullanılan bu cins alçı, su ile karıştırılırsa en geç yarım saat içinde donar. İkinci şekil alçı elde etmek, alçı taşının değirmende ufalanmasından sonra 450 dereceye kadar ısıtılarak içindeki suyun tamamen alınması ile olur. Bu cins alçılar, su ile karıştırıldığında birkaç hafta sonra donar ve çok dayanıklı bir kütle haline gelir.
