O Tour de France ou simplesmente Tour, é uma competição anual ciclística por etapas disputada na França. A corrida foi organizada pela primeira vez em 1903 para aumentar as vendas de papel da revista L' Auto; é actualmente gerido pela Amaury Sport Organisation. A corrida tem sido realizado anualmente desde a sua primeira edição em 1903, com excepção de quando foi parado para duas Guerras Mundiais. Como o Tour ganhou destaque e popularidade a corrida foi alongando e seu alcance começou a espalhar em todo o mundo. A participação ampliada de um campo, principalmente de franceses, e com os ciclistas de todo o mundo a começaram a participar na corrida a cada ano. O tour é um evento de UCI World Tour, o que significa que as equipes que competem na corrida são na sua maioria times UCI ProTeam, com excepção das equipes que os organizadores convidam. O Tour de France, o Giro d'Italia e Vuelta a España fazem parte das prestigiadas provas de três semanas de duração Grand Tour do ciclismo, o Tour é o mais antigo e considerado geralmente o mais prestigiado dos três. Tradicionalmente, a corrida é realizada principalmente no mês de julho.
