Husa's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra was commissioned by the New York Philharmonic for its 150th Anniversary and given its premiere performance on May 27, 1993 at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
An extremely demanding piece that offers soloists and solo sections of the orchestra to show off their virtuoso playing. Dedicated to and first performed by Zubin Mehta and the NY Philharmonic. Performance material available on rental.
