Ellipsoid adalah permukaan quadric tertutup yang merupakan analog tiga dimensi dari elips. Persamaan standard ellipsoid berpusat pada asal sistem koordinat Cartesian dan sejajar dengan paksi adalah Titik, dan terletak pada permukaan dan segmen garis dari asal ke titik-titik ini dipanggil paksi separuh utama panjang a, b, c.
