APAKAH MAKSUD ERA dalam MELAYU?

Era FM

ERA fm ialah sebuah stesen radio Malaysia dengan jumlah 4.8 juta pendengar pada tahun 2012. Stesen radio ini pernah menjadi stesen radio nombor 1 di Malaysia sehingga 2008, tetapi pada tahun 2012, ERA FM kembali menjadi stesen radio nombor 1 di Malaysia dengan hampir 5 juta pendengar. Stesen radio nombor 1 sebelum 2012 itu disandang oleh Hot FM dan Sinar FM. ERA merupakan stesen radio milik Astro Radio Sdn Bhd, anak syarikat Astro All Asia Networks dipancarkan dari Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. Antara slot yang mempunyai jumlah pendengar yang tinggi adalah Carta ERA dan Pagi di ERA. ERA fm bermula secara rasminya pada 1 Ogos 1998, selepas membuat siaran percubaan selama dua bulan, bermula pada Jun tahun yang sama. Stesen radio ini menggunakan frekuensi asal stesen radio Classic Rock, yang muncul di gelombang FM Malaysia pada bulan Februari 1997 setelah sebelum ini menjadi salah satu saluran bunyi sahaja di Astro. Stesen radio tersebut diteruskan di ASTRO, selepas slot FM digantikan oleh ERA fm. Stesen radio ini adalah stesen radio swasta pertama bersiaran dalam Bahasa Melayu, dan juga stesen radio pertama yang menggunakan teknologi digital sepenuhnya.

Definisi era dalam kamus Melayu

era 1. jangka masa tertentu dlm sejarah: penelitian rekod dr ~ penjajahan dan revolusi; 2. jangka masa tertentu yg dianggap mempunyai sesuatu keistimewaan: beberapa pandangan utk ~ baru perjuangan; ~ perkembangan seni lukis; boleh dikatakan tahun 1920-an dan 1980-an merupakan ~ peluasan penjajahan Amerika.
