Pojęcie było starożytnym miastem na zachodnim wybrzeżu Azji Mniejszej. Leży w dzisiejszej Turcji około 50 km na południe od İzmiru nad zatoką Kuşadası. Pojęcie zostało uznane za fundament eolowski, ale znajdowało się w Ionia. Służył jako miasto portowe w Kolophon i sanktuarium Klaros. W pojęciu pielgrzymi dotarli do starożytności, kiedy chcieli odwiedzić Klaros. Wszyscy pielgrzymowali około kilometra na świętej drodze do wyroczni. W okresie hellenistycznym Pojęcie związane było z Kolofonem. Miasto leżało na wzgórzu, z którego można było z widokiem na morze. Są pozostałości muru fortyfikacyjnego, nekropolii, świątyni, agory i teatru.

Notion war eine antike Stadt an der Westküste Kleinasiens. Sie liegt in der heutigen Türkei ca. 50 km südlich von İzmir am Golf von Kuşadası. Notion galt als äolische Gründung, lag jedoch in Ionien. Es diente als Hafenstadt für Kolophon und das Heiligtum von Klaros. In Notion kamen in der Antike die Pilger an, wenn sie Klaros besuchen wollten. Sie pilgerten etwa einen Kilometer auf einer heiligen Straße bis zum dortigen Orakel. In hellenistischer Zeit wurde Notion mit Kolophon vereinigt. Die Stadt lag erhöht auf einem Hügel, von dem man das Meer gut überschauen konnte. Es gibt noch Reste der Befestigungsmauer, der Nekropole, der Tempel, der Agora und des Theaters.
