Bobsleje lub bobslety to sport zimowy, w którym zespoły dwóch lub czterech dokonują timed przebiegają w dół, wąskie, skręcone, skręcone, oblodzone ścieżki w ciężkim sankach. Wyliczone końcowe wyniki są sumowane. Definicja słowa bobsleigh w słowniku
Pierwszą definicją bobsleju w słowniku jest sanie wyścigowe dla dwóch lub więcej osób, z mechanizmem kierowniczym umożliwiającym kierowcom skierowanie go w dół stromo zboczonego pokrytego lodem biegu. Inna definicja bobsleju to sanie składające się z dwóch krótkich sań połączonych jedna za drugą. Bobsleje jest także jedną z tych dwóch krótkich sań.
