Paliurus spina-christi, powszechnie znany jako Jerusalem Thorn, Garland Thorn, Thorn Chrystusa lub Crown of Thorns, jest gatunkiem Paliurus pochodzącym z regionu śródziemnomorskiego, południowo-zachodniej i środkowej Azji, z Maroka i Hiszpanii na wschód do Iranu i Tadżykistanu. Jest to liściaste krzewy lub małe drzewa rosnące do wysokości 3-4 m. Pędy są zygzakowate, z liśćmi i dwoma ostrymi kolcami na zewnętrznej stronie każdego zakrętu. Liście są owalne, 2-5 cm długości i 1-4 cm szerokie, błyszczące zielone, z całym marginesem. Owocem jest sucha, leśna nutta o średnicy 2-3,5 cm. Nazwa odzwierciedla starą legendę, że grzbiety grzbietu użyto do zrobienia korony cierniowej na głowę Chrystusa przed ukrzyżowaniem. Jest postrzegana jako ozdobna ciekawość i jest uprawiana w niektórych obszarach rozprzestrzeniających się jego zasięgu, w tym na Fidżi.
