Rozpusta
Rozproszenie jest wynikiem nieodwracalnego procesu zachodzącego w niehomogenicznych układach termodynamicznych. Proces rozproszenia jest procesem, w którym energia jest przekształcana z jakiejś formy początkowej do jakiejś ostatecznej postaci; pojemność ostatecznej formy wykonywania robót mechanicznych jest mniejsza niż początkowa forma. Ważnymi przykładami nieodwracalnych procesów są: przepływ ciepła przez opór cieplny, przepływ płynu przez opór przepływu, dyfuzję, reakcje chemiczne i przepływ prądu elektrycznego przez oporność elektryczną.
