Eisteddfod (Welsh:; eisteddfodau) to walijski festiwal literatury, muzyki i spektaklu. Tradycja takiego spotkania walijskich artystów sięga co najmniej XII wieku, kiedy to w roku 1176 odbył się festiwal poezji i muzyki, Rhys ap Gruffydd z Deheubarth, na jego dworze w Cardigan, a wraz z upadkiem tradycji bardickiej, Wpadł w opór. Obecny format zawdzięcza wiele do osiemnastowiecznego ożywienia wynikającego z nieformalnego eisteddfodau. Najbliższym angielskim odpowiednikiem eisteddfod jest "sesja"; Słowo jest ukształtowane z dwóch walijskich morphemes: eistedd, czyli "sit" i bod, co oznacza "be".
