Zespół antyfosfolipidowy
Zespół przeciwfosfolipidowy lub zespół przeciwciała antyfosfolipidowego, często także zespół Hughesa, jest stanem autoimmunologicznym, hiperkoagulowalnym wywołanym przeciwciałami antyfosfolipidowymi. APS powoduje skrzepy krwi w tętnicach i żyłach, jak również powikłania związane z ciążą, takie jak poronienie, urodzenie martwe, poród przedwczesny lub ciężki stan przedrzucawkowy. Kryteria diagnostyczne wymagają jednego zdarzenia klinicznego, tzn. Zakrzepicy lub komplikacji ciąży, a dwa dodatnie testy krwi rozmieszczone co najmniej 3 miesiące. Przeciwciała te obejmują: antykoagulant toczeń, anty-cardiolipina i anty-β2-glikoproteina-I. Zespół antyfosfolipidowy może być pierwotny lub wtórny. Pierwotny zespół antyfosfolipidowy występuje w przypadku braku innych pokrewnych chorób. Drugorzędowy zespół antyfosfolipidowy występuje z innymi chorobami autoimmunologicznymi, takimi jak rumień rumieniowaty układowy. W rzadkich przypadkach APS prowadzi do szybkiej niewydolności narządu spowodowanej uogólnioną zakrzepicą; jest to określenie "katastrofalny zespół antyfosfolipidowy" i jest związane z wysokim ryzykiem zgonu.
