Jezioro Qinghai
Jezioro Qinghai lub Tsongon Po (chińskie: 青海 湖, Tybetańskie: མཚོ་ སྔོན་ པོ ་) jest największym jeziorem w Chińskiej Republice Ludowej. Jezioro Qinghai jest położone w prowincji Qinghai, w dorzeczu endorficznej, jako solone i alkaliczne jezioro. Jezioro Qinghai ma powierzchnię 4317 km2; średniej głębokości 21 m oraz maksymalnej głębokości 25,5 m mierzonej w 2008 r. Zarówno obecna chińska nazwa "Qinghai", jak i starsza nazwa mongolska Kokonor, przekłada się na "Blue Lake" lub "Teal Sea", są używane w języku angielskim. Jezioro Qinghai leży w odległości 100 km na zachód od stolicy prowincji Xining (Tib: Ziling ཟི་ ལིང་ ་.) Na wysokości 3 205 m nad poziomem morza w depresji płaskowyżu tybetańskiego. Dwadzieścia trzy rzeki i strumienie opuszczają Jezioro Qinghai, z których większość jest sezonowa. Pięć stałych strumieni zapewnia 80% całkowitego napływu. Jezioro uległo wahaniom w wielkości, kurcząc się przez wiele XX wieku, ale wzrasta od 2004 r. Pomimo zasolenia ma obfite ryby, takie jak jadalny karp (Gymnocypris przewalskii, huángyú (湟 鱼)).
