Siodło jest strukturą wspomagającą dla jeźdźca lub innego ładunku, przywiązanego do pleców zwierzęcia przez obwód. Dzisiaj nowoczesne siodełki są w różnych stylach, każdy przeznaczony do konkretnej dyscypliny jeździeckiej i wymaga starannego dopasowania zarówno do jeźdźca, jak i konia. Właściwa pielęgnacja siodła może wydłużyć użyteczne życie siodła, często przez dziesięciolecia.
