Scrabble to gra słów, w której od dwóch do czterech graczy zdobywa punkty poprzez umieszczenie płytek, każdy z pojedynczą listą, na planszę rozgrywkową podzieloną na kwadratową siatkę 15 x 15. Płytki muszą tworzyć słowa, które w krzyżówce przepływają od lewej do prawej w rzędach lub w dół w kolumnach. Słowa muszą być zdefiniowane w standardowym słowniku. Określone prace referencyjne zawierają listę oficjalnie dopuszczalnych słów. Nazwa Scrabble jest znakiem towarowym Hasbro, Inc. w Stanach Zjednoczonych i Kanadzie i została sprzedana przez dział firmy Hasbro's Parker Brothers od 1999 roku; przed 1999 r. został sprzedany jako gra Miltona Bradleya. Poza Stanami Zjednoczonymi i Kanadą, Scrabble jest znakiem towarowym firmy Mattel.
