Południowy Tyrol, znany również pod włoskim nazwiskiem Alto Adige, jest samodzielną prowincją w północnych Włoszech. Jest to jedna z dwóch autonomicznych prowincji, które tworzą autonomiczny region Trentino-Alto Adige / Südtirol. Prowincja ma powierzchnię 7,400 km2 i liczy 511,750 mieszkańców. W szerszym kontekście Unii Europejskiej prowincja jest jednym z trzech członków Euroregionu Tyrol-Południowy Tyrol-Trentino, co odpowiada niemal historycznym regionom Tyrolu.
