tĕpēre (Candrea, Rosetti, I, 163), poate contaminat cu
lat. *
adsopῑre (›
fr. assouvir și
assoupir). Pentru DAR, originea cuvîntului este necunoscută. Spitzer,
Dacor., III, 647, îl consideră identic cu
țipa și de origine imitativă, opinie reluată de Scriban. –
