A adsorção é a adesão de átomos, íons ou moléculas de um sólido gasoso, líquido ou dissolvido a uma superfície. Este processo cria um filme do adsorvente na superfície do adsorvente. Nota 2: moléculas adsorvidas são aquelas que são resistentes à lavagem com o mesmo meio solvente no caso de adsorção de soluções.
