Artroscopia
A artroscopia é um procedimento cirúrgico minimamente invasivo em uma articulação em que um exame e às vezes tratamento de dano é realizado usando um artroscópio, um endoscópio que é inserido na articulação através de uma pequena incisão. Os procedimentos artroscópicos podem ser realizados para avaliar ou tratar muitas condições ortopédicas, incluindo cartilagem rasgada, cartilagem da superfície rasgada, reconstrução do ACL e corte da cartilagem danificada. A vantagem sobre a cirurgia aberta tradicional é que a articulação não precisa ser aberta completamente. Para a artroscopia do joelho, apenas duas pequenas incisões são feitas, uma para o artroscópio e outra para os instrumentos cirúrgicos a serem utilizados na cavidade do joelho. Isso reduz o tempo de recuperação e pode aumentar a taxa de sucesso devido a menos trauma no tecido conjuntivo.
