Nota de banco
Uma nota de banco é um tipo de instrumento negociável conhecido como uma nota promissória, feita por um banco, a pagar ao portador sob demanda. Quando as notas de banco foram introduzidas pela primeira vez, eles eram, de fato, uma promessa de pagar ao portador em moedas, mas gradualmente se tornaram um substituto das moedas e uma forma de dinheiro por direito próprio. As notas foram originalmente emitidas por bancos comerciais, mas, desde sua aceitação geral como forma de dinheiro, a maioria dos países atribuiu a responsabilidade de emitir notas nacionais a um banco central.
