Em matemática e eletrônica digital, um número binário é um número expresso no sistema numeral binário, ou sistema numérico base-2, que representa valores numéricos usando dois símbolos diferentes: tipicamente 0 e 1. Mais especificamente, o sistema base-2 usual é uma notação de posição com uma raiz de 2. Devido à sua implementação direta em circuitos eletrônicos digitais usando portas lógicas, o sistema binário é usado internamente por quase todos os computadores modernos e dispositivos baseados em computador, como telefones celulares.
