A Somalilândia britânica era um protetorado britânico no atual noroeste da Somália. Durante grande parte da sua existência, o território era limitado pela Somalilândia italiana, a Somalilândia francesa e a Etiópia. De 1940 a 1941, foi ocupada pelos italianos e fazia parte da África Oriental italiana. O protetorado obteve brevemente a independência em 26 de junho de 1960 como Estado da Somalilândia antes de se unir conforme previsto no Território em Confiança da Somália para formar a República da Somália em 1 de julho de 1960. O governo da Somalilândia, um Estado soberano auto declarado reconhecido internacionalmente como uma região autônoma da Somália, considera o território como o estado sucessor do Estado da Somalilândia.
