Casuística
Casuistry / kæʒuːɨstri /, ou um raciocínio baseado em maiúsculas e minúsculas, é um método de ética aplicada e jurisprudência, muitas vezes caracterizado como uma crítica do raciocínio baseado em princípios ou regras. A palavra "casuística" é derivada do casus latino. Casuística é o raciocínio usado para resolver problemas morais, extraindo ou ampliando as regras teóricas de instâncias particulares e aplicando essas regras a novas instâncias. O termo também é comumente usado como um pejorativo para criticar o uso de um raciocínio inteligente, mas inadequado, especialmente em relação a questões morais. O significado acordado de "casuística" está em fluxo. O termo pode ser usado para descrever uma forma de raciocínio presumivelmente aceitável ou uma forma de raciocínio intrinsecamente incorreta e enganosa. A maioria ou todos os dicionários filosóficos listam o sentido neutro como a primeira ou única definição. Por outro lado, o Oxford English Dictionary afirma que a palavra "ften aplicada a uma forma esquiva ou evasiva de lidar com casos difíceis de dever".
