Chlorocruorin
A clorocorrorina é um hemeproteína de ligação ao oxigênio presente no plasma sanguíneo de muitos anaélides, particularmente certos poliquetos marinhos. Sua afinidade pelo oxigênio é mais fraca do que a maioria dos hemoglobins. Um composto dicromático, a clorocruorina é conhecido por aparecer verde em soluções diluídas, embora pareça vermelho claro quando encontrado em soluções concentradas. Sua estrutura é muito semelhante à eritrocruorina e contém muitas subunidades semelhantes a mioglobina de 16-17kDa dispostas em um complexo gigante de mais de uma centena de subunidades com proteínas interligantes bem com um peso total superior a 3600kDa. A única diferença significativa entre chlorocruorin e erythrocruorin é que a clorocronorina possui uma estrutura anormal do grupo hemo. Esta macromolécula enorme é tipicamente encontrada livremente flutuando no plasma e não está contida nos glóbulos vermelhos.
