Jogos da Commonwealth
Os Jogos da Commonwealth (anteriormente os Jogos do Império Britânico (1930-1950), o Império Britânico e os Jogos da Commonwealth (1954-1966) e os Jogos Britânicos da Commonwealth (1970-1974)) é um evento internacional multidisciplinar envolvendo atletas da Commonwealth of Nações. O evento foi realizado pela primeira vez em 1930 e ocorreu todos os quatro anos desde então (exceto 1942 e 1946 que foram cancelados devido à Segunda Guerra Mundial). Os jogos são descritos como o terceiro maior evento multi-esporte do mundo, após os Jogos Olímpicos e os Jogos Asiáticos. Os jogos são supervisionados pela Federação dos Jogos da Commonwealth (CGF), que também controla o programa esportivo e seleciona as cidades hospedeiras. Uma cidade anfitriã é selecionada para cada edição e 18 cidades em sete países hospedaram o evento. Além de muitos esportes olímpicos, os jogos também incluem alguns esportes que são jogados principalmente em países da Commonwealth, como tigelas de gramado e netball. Apenas seis equipes participaram de todos os Jogos da Commonwealth: Austrália, Canadá, Inglaterra, Nova Zelândia, Escócia e País de Gales. A Austrália tem sido a equipe mais bem sucedida para onze jogos, a Inglaterra por sete e o Canadá por um lado.
