Engenharia de Construção
A engenharia de construção é uma disciplina profissional que lida com a concepção, planejamento, construção e gerenciamento de infra-estruturas, como estradas, pontes, aeroportos, ferrovias, edifícios, barragens e utilitários. Estes engenheiros são únicos, de modo que sejam um cruzamento entre engenheiros civis e gerentes de construção. Os engenheiros de construção aprendem o aspecto de design, como engenheiros civis e funções de gerenciamento de sites de construção, como os gerentes de construção. A principal diferença entre um engenheiro de construção e um gerente de construção é que o engenheiro de construção tem a capacidade de se sentar para a licença do engenheiro profissional, enquanto um gerente de construção não pode. No nível educacional, os gerentes de construção não estão tão focados no trabalho de design quanto nos procedimentos de construção, métodos e gerenciamento de pessoas. A principal preocupação é entregar um projeto no prazo, dentro do orçamento e da qualidade desejada. A diferença entre um engenheiro de construção e engenheiro civil é apenas no nível educacional, uma vez que ambas as disciplinas podem se sentar para o exame PE, dando-lhes o mesmo título de engenheiro.
