O ácido ditio é um oxoácido de enxofre com a fórmula química H2S2O4. É instável na forma pura, mas seus sais, conhecidos como ditionitos, são estáveis. Inicialmente, foi assumido que a estrutura simétrica C2 HOS-SOH é a mais estável entre as moléculas com a fórmula H 2S 2O 4 usando cálculos ab initio. A razão para isso é a existência de ligações de hidrogênio intermoleculares. Sabe-se agora que o ácido ditio se decompõe espontaneamente para SO2 e S2. O ditionito de sódio é um pó branco usado como um redutor e um agente de branqueamento. Também é usado para reduzir o grupo nitro para um grupo amino em reações orgânicas.
