O pó de Dover era um medicamento tradicional contra o frio e febre desenvolvido por Thomas Dover. Já não está em uso na medicina moderna, mas pode ter sido usado pelo menos até a década de 1960. Uma fonte de 1958 descreve Dover's Powder da seguinte forma: "Pó de Ipecacuanha e Opium. Pulv. Ipecac. Et Opii; Ipecac e Opium Powder; Pó de Dover; Composto Ipecacuanha Powder. Preparado ipecacuanha, 10 g., Opium em pó 10 g., Lactose 80 g. contém 1% de morfina anidra. Dose: 320 a 640 mg. Muitas farmácias estrangeiras incluem um pó semelhante, às vezes com sulfato de potássio ou com partes iguais de nitrato de potássio e sulfato de potássio em lugar de lactose, dose máxima de dose única 1 para 1,5 g e máximo em 24 horas 4 a 6 g.
