Flushwork
Na arquitetura, o trabalho de descarga é a combinação decorativa no mesmo plano plano de pederneira e pedra de sementes. Se a pedra projeta-se de uma parede de pederneira, então o termo é orgulhoso, pois a pedra está "orgulhosa" ao invés de ser "nivelada" com a parede. Os edifícios flushworked pertencem ao estilo perpendicular da arquitetura gótica inglesa. É característico das paredes externas dos edifícios medievais - a maioria dos sobreviventes sendo igrejas - em partes do sul da Inglaterra e especialmente da Anglia do leste. Flushwork começa no início do século 14, mas o período de pico foi durante o boom de lã entre 1450 e a Reforma inglesa da década de 1520, quando o edifício da igreja praticamente cessou e a construção de tijolos tornou-se mais elegante. A técnica continuou em uso ocasional, e viu um grande avivamento no século 19, e às vezes é usado em um estilo moderno hoje, bem como para a restauração ou extensão de edifícios antigos.
