Fita de fricção
A fita de fricção é um tipo de fita adesiva feita de pano impregnado com um adesivo à base de borracha, e às vezes uma substância abrasiva, usada principalmente para aumentar a aderência ou fricção. Como o adesivo é impregnado no pano, a fita de fricção é pegajosa em ambos os lados. O adesivo à base de borracha faz dele um isolador elétrico e fornece um grau de proteção contra líquidos e corrosão. No passado, a fita de fricção era amplamente utilizada por eletricistas, mas a fita elétrica de PVC a substituiu na maioria dos aplicativos hoje. As propriedades de fricção da fita vêm do material de pano que é geralmente feito de algodão. Um uso comum é envolvê-lo em torno da lâmina de uma vara de hóquei para melhorar o controle do disco. Outro uso é envolvê-lo em torno do punho de um softball ou bastão de beisebol para dar-se um aperto melhor. Também é útil como base ao enrolar um guidão de bicicleta com fita de guidão.
