Caso genitivo
Na gramática, genitivo (gen abreviado, também chamado de caso possessivo ou segundo caso) é o caso gramatical que marca um substantivo como modificação de outro substantivo. Muitas vezes marca um substantivo como sendo o possuidor de outro substantivo; no entanto, também pode indicar várias outras relações do que a posse: certos verbos podem tomar argumentos no caso genitivo, e pode ter usos adverbiais (ver genitivo adverbial). Colocar o substantivo modificador no caso genitivo é uma maneira de indicar que dois substantivos estão relacionados em uma construção genética.
